Jim Marchese, who was featured prominently in the 6th season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey, was arrested for felony domestic violence after an alleged incident at LAX.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Jim and wife Amber Marchese boarded a Virgin American red-eye flight. Just before taking off, the airline contacted the authorities claiming that James had grabbed Amber by the throat and threatened to hurt her.
Police later told E!, “At the request of officers, a male suspect and a female victim left the aircraft. Additional questioning revealed the suspect had grabbed the victim by the throat and made threats against her. Suspect James Marchese was arrested and transported to LAPD Pacific Division where he was booked.”
Amber’s most recent tweet was a link to an Instagram selfie in black and white captioned, “Red eye. Yup.”
Amber posted bailed ($50,000) shortly after booking. As the pair left the station hand-in-hand, James defended himself to the waiting paparazzi:
“You know, we’re all sleeping having a good time on the plane… I guess Virgin Atlantic wants to take care of my kids’ scholarship funds.”
When Jim was asked if he was pressing charges he said, “Oh, I’m definitely pressing charges.”
In November of 2015, the couple announced they were leaving RHONJ due to the direction of the show.
