Here’s the first look of Angelina Jolie as Maleficent in the live-action Disney movie based on the Sleeping Beauty villianess.
The film started shooting in London last week. Months before production started, Angelina seemed excited about the role “I’ve already got my horns fitted. My kids are very happy.”
Here’s a statement from Disney about the plot:
“The film reveals the events that hardened her heart and drove her to curse the baby, Aurora.”
This should be fun! Stories about villians can be better than ones about pure-hearted heroes, and Angelina looks super evil with her cheek prosthetics and green contacts. I’ve always really liked the name “Maleficent” anyway. It literally drips with villianry (I like making up words somethings.)
Maleficent co-stars Sharlto Copley, Elle Fanning, Sam Riley, Imelda Staunton, Miranda Richardson, Juno Temple and Lesley Manville, and is slated to release March 14, 2014. That’s almost two years! Can we stand the wait?
