Ever since the erotic romance novel Fifty Shades of Grey sold about a billion copies, folks have been endlessly conjecturing who will portray the leads of Anastasia Steele and her special-contract-requiring lover Christian Grey in the anticipated film adaptation. Harry Potter veteran actress Emma Watson was the latest to fall under this spotlight, but the 22-year-old has shot down the rumors via Twitter.
The online hacking group Anonymous is being blamed for spreading the casting speculation. It published documents it claimed were from an internal server of the German Constantin Film studio, suggesting that Watson was up for the role.
Here was Emma’s tweet:
Who here actually thinks I would do 50 Shades of Grey as a movie? Like really. For real. In real life.

Even author E L James dismissed the conjecture when she tweeted, “There have been no casting decisions made about Fifty Shades.”
