Coco Austin and her rapper husband Ice T are still mourning the death of their beloved bulldog Spartacus. The adorable dog passed away over Thanksgiving weekend due to complications from a knee surgery just one day before their daughter Chanel’s first birthday, and Coco took to Twitter to announce that she is postponing the birthday celebration in order to properly honor the family pet.
“Cuz I’ve been mourning over Spartacus I put Chanel’s Birthday on hold (which was today) I feel I need 2 honor Sparty before a celebration,” the former model announced on Twitter yesterday.

But her mourning period didn’t stop her from acknowledging her daughter’s first birthday on social media. Earlier today, Coco posted a collage of photos from the day little Chanel was born and shared a sweet message to her daughter on Instagram.
“One year ago yesterday I got the best gift in the world @babychanelnicole Happy Birthday baby girl! The love I have for her no words can explain,” Coco wrote in the caption on Instagram.
Coco and her husband both shared touching tributes to their dog Spartacus on social media following his passing. The 6-year-old bulldog passed away on Sunday, November 27 after he suffered complications from a surgery to remove cancer in his knee, Us Weekly reported.
“My heart is hurting tremendously. Today Sparty died after knee surgery complications. He was my 1st baby with Ice.There’ll never be another dog like him. Everybody that knew him thought he was very human like and so lovable,” Coco wrote in her tribute to her beloved pet.
The former Ice and Coco stars were also pet parents to Spartacus’ son Max and they even managed an Instagram account dedicated to their pups. Coco explained that she will still keep their pets’ account active, and she also wrote a touching tribute to Spartacus in Max’s point of view on the dogs’ Instagram page.
“I lost my Best Friend today also known as my father, “Spartacus The Supermodel” We were 2 pees in a pod. Who will I play with now? (Max Voice),” the caption read.
Ice T and Coco also manage an Instagram account for their daughter Chanel which featured photos of the adorable baby posing and playing with both Spartacus and Max. The couple posted a tribute to Spartacus from baby Chanel’s page as well.
“I lost my big brother, Spartacus, today after knee surgery… He was a cuddler and a lover.. I had a short time with him here on earth but worth every minute of it,” the caption read.
Rest in peace, Spartacus.
