Brooklyn mom allegedly cursed at, abandoned daughters then posted champagne photo

Dalisha Adams

Dalisha Adams of Brooklyn, New York is accused of abandoning two of her young children on Sunday. The children were found lost on the streets near their grandmother’s house clutching diapers and bundled up for the currently cold weather.

Adams, 26, was charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor after the police were able to identify that she was the mother in question. The cops said that the two young girls knew their mommy’s first name but could not identify where they lived.

Hours later while police were still searching for Adams the following disturbingly celebratory photo showed up on her Facebook page.

There were no signs of abuse but neighbors told the authorities that Adams was often extremely volatile and foul-mouthed while berating her children. One neighbor stated:

“One day, I heard her curse out the little baby, ‘I’ll punch you in the f—–g face.'”

On Sunday a neighbor said there was yet another verbal outburst that seemed to indicate Adams’ possible intentions of abandoning her daughters.

“Stop crying. Shut the f— up. I’m going to get you out of here.”

Adams turned herself in Sunday night. She has a third daughter, 8, but she was at an aunt’s house when all of this went down. As for her other two daughters, they’re in the custody of ACS after having been taken to Brookdale University Hospital for evaluation.

The grandmother of the toddlers, Bertha Davia, stated that she would have taken the kids and that, “All [Adams] she had to do was call.” Davia’s son, Shawn Cobbs, is the father of the children and he and Adams had an argument Sunday. Adams has accused Cobbs of domestic violence on a number of occasions.

Davia added:

“She wanted him to take the kids, and he told her he didn’t have a stable place to take the kids. She must have got mad, dressed them kids and brought them here.”

A friend of Adams didn’t believe that the mother was capable of what she’s being accused of. This friend claims that Adams was a doting mother over her children.

The 3-year-old told the cops, “She left me and she drove off.”
