Before the 90 Days SPOILER: Are Sean and Abby still together?

Before the 90 Days Sean and Abby

Tonight is the series premiere of the TLC spin-off prequel to their popular 90 Day Fiance series. Before the 90 Days documents Americans involved in international relationships meeting their partners in their home countries for the first time. The show will feature four couples, but one in particular has raised quite a few eyebrows online because of the rather vast age gap.

47-year-old Sean from Springfield, Ohio wasn’t really looking for a much younger woman when he ran across 20-year-old Abby from Port-au-Prince, Haiti on an international dating website. From our previous post recapping the couple’s audition tape:

“She wasn’t in the age group that I was looking for on my profile, but she messaged me anyways,” Sean says. “I looked at her profile and messaged her back and said ‘You know, you’re very pretty, you seem to be very intelligent,’” Sean recalls, before making sure we know “she’s going to college.”

After that initial exchange, the two really hit it off and were in constant, daily communication for a month and a half at the time the audition tape was recorded.

So how are Sean and Abby doing now? Are they still together?

The answer to that question appears to be a resounding “Yes!” According to their social media profiles, Sean and Abby are still together and very happy. Sean posted this photo with Abby on August 2 with the caption below:

Before the 90 Days Sean and Abby

This woman is AMAZING! She’s my dream, my my muse, my love, my life. I am so blessed to have her in my life! I love you, Abby.❤️❤️❤️??????

Abby replied in the comments with “I love you most.” (I should point out that it is unclear when the photo was taken–just when it and the comments were posted.)

The two exchanged similar lovey dovey messages on Instagram on Tuesday. Abby posted a photo of them together — here is her caption, followed by Sean’s comment:

ABBY: My everything. He makes me a better person. I love you so much words can’t even explain Sean ❤❤❤ my mashed potatoes ????my daddy??

SEAN: I love you most, my Baby Girl! You are my moon and stars. You are my reason for joy! You make me want to be a better man for you every day! ❤️❤️❤️??????

In a preview clip for the series, Sean is heard calling Abby “Baby Girl” just as he did above, and that nickname made some a little uneasy. “Cringed when he said ‘baby girl.'” one person on Twitter wrote. Sean responded “I hope you watch with an open mind. Calling Abby baby girl is cultural.” When asked what he meant, Sean explained: “I’ve dated Black women for years and to a T, they have all preferred to be called baby girl. It may not be cultural, but seems like it.”

In addition to “Baby Girl,” Sean also refers to Abby as his girlfriend in posts as recent as this week, so it doesn’t appear as though they have rushed down the aisle or anything. Plus (although I can’t confirm it), I get the impression that Abby is still in Haiti. My suspicion is that they may be in a bit of a holding pattern in hopes of TLC continuing to follow them on the next season of 90 Day Fiance.

If you’re wondering whether or not Sean and Abby would want to continue filming for television, the answer appears to be yet another resounding “Yes!” In response to a post about the criticism he has already received regarding his and Abby’s ages, a supportive commenter wrote: “Feed off the hate. Some people just want to see things go badly, so I hope you have fun with it and keep the haters watching….maybe get your own show.”

“That’s the plan,” wrote Sean. “Abby and I are starting our own business and would love to have a show about us and the biz.” On another social media account, Sean mentions in his profile: “Going to open up a boutique soon, so look ? for CariBoutique ?” (Abby is already selling clothes via Instagram, so perhaps they will just be expanding that venture?)

On the same post mentioned above about the public backlash regarding his age, Sean received words of support from his Before the 90 Days co-star Paul, who is 34 and dating 21-year-old Karine from Tonantis, Brazil. “I feel you,” Paul wrote. “I am picked on locally for me and Karine’s age gap also. Age is just a number.”

“Very true, my friend,” Sean responded. “Good luck to you two!”

“Thanks!!” wrote Paul. “At least you both speak the same language ?”

“lol true,” Sean laughed. “I couldn’t imagine the obstacles that you are both overcoming.”

Before the 90 Days Sean and Abby from Haiti quote

I will say that Sean and Abby do appear to be different than some of the other couples featured on 90 Day Fiance with VERY large age gaps. (I’m looking at you Mark and Nikki!) Abby is just as enthusiastic about the relationship than Sean (if not more so), and they genuinely seem joyful together. I’m thinking they have a pretty good shot at a happily ever after!

Speaking of happily ever after, Sean is actually a published author of a romance novel titled Oracle: The Atlantean Line Trilogy! The book is credited to someone named Lisa Forest, but Sean linked to the book on Facebook and described it as “my novel published under the pen name Lisa Forest.” Lisa Forest has quite an elaborate online presence, so if she really is Sean’s made up pen name, then he deserves credit for essentially writing a second novel in the creation of Lisa! (Lisa has also written two erotica novels as well, Country Club Secrets and Desperately His: Country Club Secrets II.)

You can watch Sean and Abby’s romance unfold on screen when 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days premieres tonight at 9/8c on TLC!
