Kandi Burruss has been dating 28-year-old Baltimore Ravens running back Willis McGahee for a while now. She formerly was engaged to nightclub promoter A.J. Jewell, but they broke up shortly before he passed away in a nightclub brawl.
A source told Radar Online:
“Kandi is very happy and has been dating Willis McGahee for several weeks now. Viewers will see their romance develop in the new season of The Real Housewives of Atlanta and the cast and crew are happy for her after what happened to A.J.
“Willis has a baby with another woman but their relationship was already over before he started seeing Kandi.”
Kandi herself also weighed into the situation, via Urban Informer:
“You’ve got to live life to the fullest, because you never know when it’s going to stop.” So she decided to give love a second chance, this time with Baltimore Ravens running back Willis McGahee. “He’s really cool. He’s fun to be around,” Kandi blushes about Willis, whom we will see taking Kandi on a date in the premiere. “It was a great thing to meet him when I did.”
When asked if Willis is the one, Kandi says, “I don’t want it to seem like I’m sitting here waiting and praying he’s going to pop the question!” But she is looking for a lasting relationship. “Anybody that I actually give my time and attention to…I have to see potential in the future with that person.”
The common thread between A.J. and Willis is baby mama drama. A.J. had six kids with different women, and Willis reportedly has seven children with seven different women. In fact at elast two of the women were pregnant at the same time! Lil’ Wayne much?
Dorothy Doretha McNeil sued Willis for child support over their daughter Bria McGahee, born January 17, 2005. Chiniqua Smith had Willis McGahee IV January 6, 2006, followed shortly by Keisha Walls giving birth to baby boy Kai Walls April 19, 2006.
So there’s three, but there are four more rumored baby mamas in the woodwork.
Results have not come back to prove Willis’ paternity of Keisha’s child Kai. Keisha was married when she hooked up with Willis, and claims to have been intermittently dating him since 2003.
Kandi has an eight-year-old daughter, Riley, with her ex-boyfriend Russell “Block” Spencer.
