We have some more good news to share from former Breaking Amish and Return To Amish star Sabrina High! As we reported last month, Sabrina is currently sober and seems to really be getting her life back together after moving back in with her parents. However, there was still one major piece missing: her 17-month-old daughter Oakley.
Part of Sabrina hitting rock bottom and her life falling apart was losing custody of Oakley. Given her recent progress and sobriety, however, Sabrina was optimistic–albeit anxious–about her court hearing addressing custody of Oakley on Wednesday. “If you think about it, please pray for me tomorrow. I have court for Oakley,” Sabrina posted on Facebook on Tuesday. “Even tho I am doing everything that I can and should be doing, it’s still nerve-wracking for me. Thank you.”
Amazingly, the internet responded with an outpouring of troll-free support and love–and Sabrina was extremely appreciative:
Thanks to everyone for your prayers. I am so amazed and humbled by your outpouring of love!!! Granted, I am nervous, but I have a peace inside of me that passes all understanding. Thank you for your encouragement and support. I wish I could give each and every one of you a hug. Y’all have no idea how much your kind words mean to me. You all have shown me so much grace and I am so grateful for that. Thank you for caring about Oakley and I; in spite of all the mistakes I have made, you still care about me and love me and I love every single one of you for that. It would be so easy for y’all to just write me off because of my failures, but instead you have rallied around me and showered me with grace, kindness, gentleness, and love. Thank you for being a blessing in my life I love you!!! I’m at the courthouse now waiting, it could be awhile yet – I don’t know. I will make sure I update y’all when I am done here. Thank you again for believing in me!!!!!
As you may have guessed from the spoiler in our headline, Sabrina got the good news she was hoping for! “Court went great,” she wrote Wednesday. “I am definitely going to be getting Oakley back. Within the next couple of months the visits will begin to increase and she will come home then. I’m doing everything I’m supposed to be doing and they are pleased with my progress 🙂 Thank you for your prayers 🙂 ”
In addition to the good news about Oakley, things are also looking WAAAAY up for Sabrina in the relationship department. Although she hasn’t mentioned his name, it appears as though Sabrina is back with Oakley’s father, Harry Kreiser III. (Harry is with Sabrina in the photo above). You might recall that Sabrina and Harry have already had a tumultuous relationship, including a violent episode leading to his arrest in 2012.
But all of that apparently went on while both he and Sabrina were struggling with drug addiction. Harry is now sober too, and things seem pretty amazing:

In case you were wondering, yes, Sabrina has moved out of her parents’ home and now has her own apartment–which apparently comes complete with an awesome red couch!
If you are like a lot of fans on Sabrina’s page, you are probably curious about Oakley. “She is growing like a weed!!” Sabrina wrote on August 16. “She loves to dance and watch music videos! She likes to watch Minnie Mouse and she loves the song ‘All About That Bass’ by Meghan Trainor! She’s alot of fun, we always have a blast 
She hates Mr. Potato Head, if she sees him she shrieks and needs a hug from Momma 
I will post some picture updates sometime soon!”

How amazing is all this? We couldn’t be happier for Sabrina, Harry and Oakley! Stay tuned as we will try to update when Sabrina officially regains custody of Oakley.
Meanwhile, here’s a “sober” reminder from Sabrina’s personal Facebook page that she is well aware her journey has just begun:
People seem to think my life is perfect right now. Certain people are angry because, in the words of one person, “You haven’t suffered enough. It takes years for a regular addict to rebuild their lives” Since it hasn’t taken me as long, people hate me for that and think good things should not happen to me. I worked so hard to get where I am. And yes, I consider myself fortunate and blessed. What people don’t understand is the fact that I have been thru hell and back mentally and emotionally. What you see on the outside is strictly physical. It will take years, decades, to repair the inside damage. There are emotionally horrible horrible things that have happened to me thru out my life that NO ONE should have to endure. I don’t talk about those things because then I get accused of playing the victim card. If someone else is happy, and you bear resentment in your heart towards them because they are happy, you need to figure out why you are unhappy and work on changing that. You are not being fair to yourself if you don’t. No one else is going to make you happy except yourself. If you constantly look to the future, or other people, for circumstances to be “just right”, you will never find happiness. It will flee from you. God taught me to learn to be happy even when I couldn’t wash my clothes or eat that day. I learned to find happiness in the things around me. Like a pretty flower, or a beautiful sunset. So I say all that to say this, “I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content.” So please, the next time you are upset about my happy posts on Facebook, remember that I am happy simply because I choose to be. Roses will always have thorns, and so will life. It’s all in what you choose to focus on.
