Madonna trolls the internet with photos of black leaders’ faces bound with cords to promote Rebel Heart

Madonna seems to be trying to prove she still has what it takes to stir things up in the age of social media as she trolled the internet today by tweeting and instagramming photos of black historical figures with their faces bound with black cords to match the cover artwork for her upcoming album, Rebel Heart.

Here are the tweets and photos, including Martin Luther King, Jr., Nelson Mandela and Bob Marley:

Of course the tweets drew a deluge of angry responses, something Madonna seemed to anticipate when she tweeted this message yesterday:

Last week Madonna posted this lengthy message on instagram, renouncing discrimination and haters:

There are those who want to shut me up but they cannot! We still live in a world that discriminates against women. Their are People that are so hateful. they want to create feuds between strong women that do not exist! I do not wish ill will towards any other female artist and i never have! The World is big enough for all of us! I will fight for my rights as an artist, a human and a woman till the end of my days! Madonna had previously raised a smidgen of ire for tweeting face b0ndage photos of other famous people like Michael Jackson, Jesus, Lady Gaga, Marilyn Monroe, Miley Cyrus and Salvador Dali. Here are most all of them so far:
