Right before Apollo headed to prison this fall, he says he discovered some text messages on his wife’s phone to a man named Mr. Chocolate. He revealed his discovery on Sunday night’s episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta, and even hinted that his reaction was so severe that maybe Phaedra was in danger.
Apollo called Peter in the middle of the night to talk to him about the texts he found. Peter said when Apollo called him, it sounded like “he was about to trip in the wrong direction.”
“I came home the other night, and I just happened to go through Phaedra’s phone. She’s always been trying to hold her phone real tight, lately, like I can’t use it . . and she’s having an affair with some guy.”
Apollo says Pheadra told the guy that she loved him, and that he was her “happily ever after.” He said Phaedra and Mr. Chocolate were counting down to when Apollo went to prison. “They time next week I’m off the plantation,” he read from the tweets.
Apollo printed out her text messages to prove that they were from her phone. One of the texts has a picture of her. He said when he confronted Pheadra about it, she brushed it off as “nothing,” and said that he was in Africa anyway.
Peter asked if Apollo threatened her, and he answered, “I did say, ‘People kill people over sh!t like this. It’s called “Love Crime.'”
Peter advised him to not let this “f**k with your head, and do something stupid.”
In an interview, Apollo explained that “when a man catches his wife cheating, that’s an emotion. You can’t turn this sh!t off.”
The rumors of Pheadra’s alleged affair with “an African man named Chocolate,” swirled last fall after a promo for the new season aired. At the time Pheadra and her rep denied that she was ever involved with a man named Chocolate. She denied the rumors on Ellen, but joked that she did enjoy an occasional Snickers bar.
On last night’s episode, Pheadra didn’t address the rumors, but she was filmed getting her locks changed after she thought Apollo had turned himself in. In the middle of changing the locks and the garage door code, Apollo stormed up to the house to confront Phaedra.
She responded to his anger at changing the locks by claiming she wasn’t changing the locks on Apollo, just on whoever has a key, and she doesn’t know who has a key. He argued that she didn’t even change the locks when they first bought it. He claimed that he completely changed the interior of the house, and dumped out a bucket of hinges and odds and ends to prove it. She called Apollo’s friend Bun to deal with Apollo.
Since this episode, Phaedra and Apollo have decided to get a divorce.
