Adam Richman’s new show pulled in wake of vile Instagram rant
The fallout continues for Man v. Food star Adam Richman following his recent crude Instagram outbursts as it’s been revealed that the Travel Channel has pulled his new show Man Finds Food from their schedule.
A couple of weeks ago Richman posted a photo showing off his impressive weight loss. As part of the share he used the hashtag #thinspiration, which unbeknownst to the show host, is often used to link to pro-bulimia and pro-anorexia sites.
When this was pointed out to Richman he went off the deep end with some seriously crude insults including calling a woman a c*nt and suggesting that another “grab a razor blade and draw a bath.”
He quickly apologized stating, “So I’ve recently been made aware that a hashtag I used in a previous post, thinspiration, actually has extreme negative connotations for those with eating disorders. Had I known that in advance, I never would have used it. And I apologize to anyone I may have offended.”
Man Finds Food was slated to premiere tomorrow but the network pulled it from the schedule without any indication of a future air date. As the Washington Post points out, the move is pretty surprising considering that Adam is one of the network’s most identifiable and profitable stars with shows like the previously mentioned Man v. Food, Best Thing I Ever Ate and Adam Richman’s Best Sandwich in America among others.
Following the news, Richman has made another apology. This time he told GMA, “I’ve long struggled with my body image and have worked very hard to achieve a healthy weight. I’m incredibly sorry to everyone I’ve hurt.”
