14-year-old Cash Me Outside girl pleads guilty to grand theft, other charges; while dad tries to get custody to keep her off the Internet
14-year-old Danielle Bregoli has had an epic half a year since she invented her own catchphrase on Dr. Phil. “Cash me outside, how bow dah?” because a national phenomenon, and Danielle stepped right into the swirl of media attention to build her own brand.
Just days after she was a complainant in court over a trademark lawsuit for her famous phrase, she was in a courtroom to plead guilty to a number of juvenile charges including marijuana possession, filing a false police report and grand theft.
Danielle’s episode of Dr. Phil aired December, 2016 and was titled “I Want to Give Up My Car-Stealing, Knife-Wielding, Twerking 13-Year-Old Daughter Who Tried to Frame Me for a Crime.” During filming for the show Danielle stole the keys of one of Dr. Phil’s producers. She appeared on the show with her mom Barbara Ann Peskowitz, who was seeking help for her young teen daughter’s escalating bad behavior. At some point the audience laughed at Danielle, and she angrily asked them to “Cash me outside. how bow dat?”
She now has over 10 million Instagram followers where she makes cash endorsing products. She also recently signed on to a new reality show, and plans to launch her own line of products. The charges she faced today were from when she, on three separate occasions, stole her mom’s car, stole her mom’s purse, and called the cops to falsely accuse her of domestic assault. Those incidents pre-date her appearance on Dr. Phil. She did receive a charge post-fame because she was caught with marijuana this April. She will be sentenced at a later date.
Danielle’s estranged father Bregoli’s estranged father Ira Peskowitz, who has started a GoFundMe to get custody of his famous daughter to keep her from being exploited, was also present for the 10 minute hearing. His attorney asked Judge Lou Delgado to restrict Danielle from the Internet completely. That request was denied.
“She posts 24-7,” Peskowitz said afterwards. “It’s controlled by an alleged management team that promotes absurd behavior for a 14-year-old child.” He believes his daughter is “being exploited for her horrific, disgusting behavior.”
Danielle has also been in several physical altercations since she went viral. She was banned from Spirit Airlines this February when she, her mom, and a passenger got into a fight. She was involved in a bar brawl that same month.
