Street Outlaws: New Orleans racer Kye Kelley confirmed what has been rumored for months by making his relationship with fellow drag racer Lizzy Musi Facebook official this week. The announcement comes 20 months after Kye married Alisa Mote, and 13 months after the couple welcomed their daughter, Kenadeigh Alexa Kelley.
Lizzy changed her relationship status one week before Kye, although she didn’t identify her significant other at the time. For those not familiar with Lizzy, not only is she a successful drag racer in her own right, but she is the daughter of famous drag racing engine builder Pat Musi. I’m guessing this relationship might a have more than a few “fringe benefits” for Kye!
This video seems to indicate that is indeed the case as Pat Musi is seen fine tuning the engine from Kye’s famous race car, The Shocker:
Speaking of Lizzy’s fringe benefits, another of them is that she is quite soothing on the eyes:
One of Lizzy’s first duties as Kye’s official significant other is to help nurse him back to health after he suffered a herniated disc in his spine. “I have bulging disc in my lower back from the wreck and I was out of line really bad from riding all over the country with my wallet in my pocket,” Kye revealed on April 17, before reluctantly visiting a chiropractor. However, it seems that the chiropractor wasn’t enough because a few days later he had to have an emergency procedure.
Lizzy updated fans on April 21 by writing: “Everyone please keep Kye Kelley in your prayers. He is in a lot of pain, hard to see him like this…suffering from a large disc herniation #strength #prayers.” Later, Kye shared another update after the procedure:
Just got to recovery, seems to have went well my left leg is numb but that’s normal. My plans are to walk outta here on my own two feet and try not to miss my bow fishing trip tonight, guys and girls that is absolutely the worst pain I’ve ever experienced in my life! I’ve even had a broken neck before. Thank god this spine doctor is a nice guy and stayed late to give me the emergency procedure, now all I gotta hope is it worked but I can tell u I already feel a lil relief!!!
On April 24, Kye revealed that he was on his feet again, albeit gingerly. “Finally got outta bed today and took a few steps on my own!!!” he wrote. “Thanks for all the prayers guys and girls!!”
We certainly wish Kye a speedy recovery and hope to see him and The Shocker back on the street soon!
Meanwhile, back in Mississippi…
As at the beginning of this post we mentioned that the relationship between Kye Kelley and Lizzy Musi has been rumored for months. Actually, “rumored” may not be a strong enough word. We heard reports as far back as last July that Kye and Lizzy were splitting up, and it clearly wasn’t amicable. As further evidence of an acrimonious split, racing forums erupted into a rare gossip frenzy back in February when Kye’s ex Alisa Kelley reportedly posted and then deleted the Facebook message “THE DEFINITION OF TRASH: Lizzy Musi and Kye Kelley’s affair. That’s all I have to say.” After deleting the post she reportedly mentioned that people had their screen shots and she had her fun for the day.
It appears as though Lizzy and Kye’s divorce may have been finalized, and Lizzy has already moved out of their former home and listed it for sale. According to online records, the property was initially listed back in October for $195,000. The listing described it as a 3 bedroom, 2 bath home built in 2015. As a big bonus to car buffs, it included Kye’s 30X30 insulated shop with heating and air conditioning.
According to Zillow, the listing price was dropped to $179,500 in December. Alisa posted in early March that she had a closing scheduled that week, but the sale fell through and the house was relisted earlier this month. Alisa shared a link to the listing on Facebook on April 4 and wrote, “Somebody better come buy my house with this free shop in the back ???.”

It’s unclear how much — if any — of Kye and Alisa’s split will be featured on Street Outlaws: New Orleans, which Discovery has officially renewed for a second season.
