Rumer Willis calls Photoshopped image of jaw a form of bullying

Actress, singer, and former Dancing With the Stars champion Rumer Willis has called out a photographer for photoshopping an image of her that appeared in a magazine.

The photo, which includes Willis’ sisters Scout And Tallulah, was reposted to Instagram by Rumer with the following tag:

Any friends of fans of mine who posted this I would appreciate if you took it down. The photographer Photoshopped my face to make my jaw smaller and I find it really offensive for anyone to try and change the way you look so drastically. I love the way I look and I won’t support anyone who would feel a need to change the way I look to make me beautiful. Whether or not they realize it, it is a form of bullying, which I won’t stand for.

During her run on Dancing With the Stars, the 27-year-old eldest daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore revealed she struggles with insecurities about her appearance. “When I was a teenager I was super awkward,” she explained. “I don’t think I really felt comfortable in my body or with how I looked, and people were nasty.”

They didn’t even do a good job photoshopping it. Good for her for not putting up with it.

    Good for you Rumer!

Stuff like this should be worked out through her agent. Rumor should have been able to see the photo before it went to print and given her okay on it first. I feel bad for her. She does have a very prominent chin. It’s not something that you can just shave off. Important muscles are attached to that area, if they are damaged during plastic surgery, it could affect her ability to smile. It would suck to be the child of famous actors and not measure up physically.

Sounds like a backhanded compliment. Rude.

It sounds backhanded, but it’s true. People expect the children of celebrities to also be ‘beautiful’ but sometimes it doesn’t happen.

Rumer isn’t ugly, she’s just got pinched looking features because of her jaw and she keeps picking terrible harsh hairstyles and colors that just make her chin more prominent.

None of these girls are attractive. Which is shocking, considering who their parents are. Bruce and Demi’s genes did not mix well together.

          • twelfthnight

It really looks like the other two had photoshop done on them as well. They all kind of look like they have potatoes for heads in candid shots.

Bruce was never a gorgeous man, Demi is and was pretty but I think she resembled her daughters more before getting her face done.

You’re absolutely right though, their genetics didn’t mix well and they got all the wrong traits from each parent.

Really, whose measuring stick of beauty are we using here? Who says (besides you) that she doesn’t measure up? And why should people have to concern themselves with choosing a hairstyle compatible with our facial structure just to be more appealing to the court of public opinion?

          • twelfthnight

Oh calm yourself down. It’s called an opinion. Did I ever say they don’t measure up? No, I did not. I just said that people would expect the children of someone who repeatedly got put on those “hottest people of [year]” lists to have children that come out looking just like them. For example, Ava Philippe looks very much like her mother and got all the right features from both parents.

I specifically said that I don’t think she’s ugly. There are plenty of things one can do for themselves to either enhance or diminish their natural looks. The hairstyles she has had in the past draw attention specifically to the jawline (like the one shown in this photo) and whether you’re fine with your jawline or not, it is an unflattering haircut that creates imbalance in her face.

When your job is to sell yourself (I’ve seen her act, she’s not great) you have to look your best if that’s really all you have to offer. The court of public opinion is how she makes her money. When you’re selling yourself and don’t have a specific talent, how you look and act are what brings in money.

I’m calm. I’m just mad. Thought I was replying to needlymango IV the first comment or whatever their name is who did say she didn’t measure up and combined it with your post which was a mistake I’m sorry about that…my bad sorry! I still mean it though.

  • Pattipandi

Oh whatever, she’s still had sh!t done to her face in real life so if they fix her chin a little in a picture who cares. Don’t preach you want to be who you really are and don’t appreciate Photoshopping and love the way you look when you use cosmetic alterations.

  • festie

    She sings??????

  • Drbzy

I really wish celebrities would learn the definition of “bullying” …. Jia Tolentino just wrote up an excellent article on Jezebel explaining why most celebs claiming they’re victims of bullying are flat out wrong.

  • Hannah

I don’t see how everyone thinks the Willis kids got those chins from their dad. That is their mothers jaw all day!
