America’s favorite male drama reality show returns tonight as The Real Golddiggers of Alaska (aka Gold Rush) returns at 9/8c on Discovery for a fifth season! In addition to the return of the on-location drama, fans can also look forward to Gold Rush Executive Producer Christo Doyle’s entertaining companion series The Dirt, which airs before Gold Rush tonight at 8/7c.
As a sample of some of the fun things fans can expect on this season of The Dirt, check out these two promotional clips that includes Parker Schnabel talking about his new, longer hair and Todd Hoffman addressing some of the many haters by reading a mean Facebook comment and offering up his snarky response:
Christo: Parker Schnabel, how’s it going?
Parker: Good! How are you doing Christo?
Christo: I’m doing very well. So you’re at an undisclosed location. My first question here is, what is going on with the look? What is going on with the hairdo? I think that’s called a goatee, I’m not sure.
Parker: Ha, real funny. I’m not trying to make a look or anything.
Christo: It’s like a Scooby Doo, Shaggy thing.
Parker: That’s all I’m going for Christo, so I’ve nailed it.
Christo: You nailed the Shaggy, Scooby Doo thing.
After that Parker talked about what it was like bringing home all that gold last season to his grandpa, John Schnabel. And speaking of john Schnabel, it appears as though fans will be seeing him again this season. Now on to Todd Hoffman…
Christo: Todd, as we’ve talked about numerous times, we both get just destroyed on social media. So we’re going to steal a page from late night TV and we’re gonna read some of the meaner tweets out there about us.
Todd: OK.
Christo: You have to read it out loud.
Todd: Alright.
Christo: It might hurt. It might sting.
Todd: OK. Alright. Let’s do it, let’s do it. [reading a Facebook comment from Keith ???] “Todd go dig up a cheeseburger. He’ll probably screw that up.” So I guess it’s a cheeseburger because I’m kind of chubby. My mom says I’m big boned, but… And then “he’ll probably screw that up.” He says that probably because I actually go out and try stuff. Go for it, right?
Well this guy, Keith, I want to tell you something. Keith, I want you to get out of your mom’s basement. You need to quit playing World of Warcraft, and you need to get your life on track, OK? Quit yelling at your mom for meatloaf. It’s not funny any more. You’re 30 years old. Pull it out! Pull your head out.
Christo: You don’t bury cheeseburgers.
Todd: And no, you don’t bury cheeseburgers. And if I dug up an old cheeseburger, I would probably give it to my dog. OK? Thanks Keith! Remember, you got burned by the Big Dog here.
