On Sunday Oprah will be airing her anticipated one-on-one interview with pop superstar Rihanna. According to her OWN network:
Oprah travels to Barbados for an emotional, no-holds-barred conversation with pop star Rihanna about her career, her family and the price of fame. Plus, Rihanna reveals how she really feels about that infamous incident with Chris Brown…and her relationship with him now.
Oprah has let out a teaser of the interview and it’s all about Chris Brown of course. Here’s the brief clip that reveals an extremely emotional Rihanna explaining her position following the domestic abuse she suffered at the hands of Brown.
Here’s what Rihanna had to say in the vid:
“It was a weird, confusing space to be in. Because as angry as I was, as angry and hurt and betrayed, I just felt like he made that mistake because he needed help and who’s going to help him? Nobody’s going to say he needs help. Everybody’s going to say he’s a monster without looking at the source, and I was more concerned about him.”
She added:
“I lost my best friend. Everything I knew switched … switched in a night and I couldn’t control that. So I had to deal with that, and that’s not easy for me to understand or interpret. It’s not easy to interpret on camera. Not with the world watching.”
Oprah’s exclusive interview with Rihanna airs on OWN at 9PM EST on Sunday.
