Lady Gaga has a good deal of musical talent, but it pales in comparison to her marketing genius! Aside from Pink and Shakira wearing the exact same dress, Lady Gaga had the top five most talked about outfits at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards last night.
Lady “G” arrived in a black gothic Victorian outfit that looked like a crazy mix of Breakfast at Tiffany’s and Edgar Allen Poe. After that there was the red lace body suit she wore to accept her Best New Artist Moon Man, her bloody Mardi Gras Chorus Line getup she sang and danced in during her lavish “Paparrazi” performance, her frilly Eskimo hoodie she wore while sitting in the audience beside the always-douchey Perez Hilton, the tactilely alluring quilted Buck Rogers one piece after the show, and for an encore we received the lacy Mothra wedding gown at her after party.
WHEW! It’s hard to keep up with with this woman! I just did a post a few days ago with six different looks and here we go with six more! And I have to admit that everyone (except maybe the Grumblebee Channing getup) have been fun and most are somehow sexy in a nerdy, fetishy, can’t go wrong with a nice pair of legs kinda way.
I have developed a theory, though. (Lady Gaga lovers be forewarned, this may alter how you view her fashion decisions forever!) I first noticed this with Lady Gaga’s Kermit the Frog coat and now I can pick up on it because I’m looking for it. Lady Gaga is cross-eyed! Have you noticed all the funky glasses, masks and crazy eye make-up? Combine that with her distracting and always bare legs and I think we might have a cover up! I think I like her even more now that I know.
