Why did Johnny Wier hate Bethenny Frankel on Skating With the Stars?

Bethenny Frankel’s show Bethenny Ever After focuses on her new family, her bustling booze business, dealing with the haunts of her childhood, and competing on the first and last season of Skating with the Stars. Bethenny didn’t perform that well (although being able to do an ice skating routine at all with little experience and just six weeks of training is a notable feat in itself,) but she hung around like Kate Gosselin and Bristol Palin because her at home supporters kept voting for her.

She also found an enemy in judge Johnny Weir, a figure skater known for his flair and fashion.

Although it’s usually a good thing when judges are tough on these kinds of shows, Johnny’s comments were straight-up vindictive. There must have been something else going on here, and it turns out there was. Now, there is one rumor that Johnny was in cahoots with Jill Zarin, and that gave him personal reasons for wanting to attack her. Whether or not he was “siding” with a friend, he soon got his very own reason to carry a grudge against Bethenny. She claims she wasn’t taking the whole thing too seriously, but her actions scream that she was taking Johnny’s comments too seriously.

A source told Radar Online:

“She angrily yelled at Johnny that she was a grown woman on ice wearing pigtails and sparkles and that she doesn’t take the whole thing too seriously. Johnny was backstage just talking to his friends, stylist Avo Yermagyan and designer Traver Rains, and you could tell by the look on their faces that they were stunned by her outburst.
“It was embarrassing to watch because the skaters are supposed to be respectful and maybe even woo the judges, but that didn’t seem like Bethenny’s agenda.

“She said some nasty things that weren’t funny and then kept screeching louder and louder, over and over again, ‘you can’t take a joke!’

“Someone asked her what she was drinking and she stopped and responded a Skinny Girl Margarita, almost as if she took a moment to plug her drink she promotes.”

This February Johnny told racked.com (via Socialite Life) that he felt disrespected by Bethenny:

“I was impressed that she did it in just six weeks. It’s a hard thing to do and I applauded that. But Bethenney was very disrespectful to the judges and didn’t want to hear what we had to say — constructive criticism — and I respect people in other fields that are better at it than me and I felt very disrespected.”

At least it’s all over, and Bethenny can get back to courting food dude Nick, and enjoying her $120 million smackers.
