Who plays Channing Tatum’s love interest Brooke in Magic Mike?
Okay, so the standouts of Magic Mike are Channing Tatum’s abs, Channing Tatum’s moves, Michael McCaungheney’s zaniness, and Alex Pettyfer’s portrayal of a greenhorn stripper, but the actress who plays Channing Tatum’s love interest Brooke (and Alex Pettyfer character’s sister) deserves her just props. She plays sensible, judgmental, exasperated, and sweet in an endearing, natural way; and her performance really ties the movie together.
Brooke is portrayed by Cody Horn, who looks like a Abercrombie & Fitch model (she was a model for Abercrombie & Fitch, and was also a model for Ralph Lauren.) She modeled in national ad campaigns while getting her bachelor’s degree in philosophy at New York University. Cody says that she actually uses her degree because her study of philosophy helps her better understand her characters.
If you’ve a big fan of The Office, like we are, then you’ve seen her before in a guest starring role as Jordan, the unqualified assistant Will Ferrell’s misogynist boss character hires because she’s hot. She got her acting debut in 2010’s Twelve alongside Kiefer Sutherland, Chace Crawford, 50 Cent, Emma Roberts and Zoë Kravitz. We’ll next see Cody this September in End of Watch.
She’s also been the star of a couple of music videos:
Cody WAS definitely born with a silver spoon in her mouth, though. Her dad Alan F. Horn is an entertainment executive, and is currently the chairman of Walt Disney Studios, and her mom Cindy Horn is a knock-out former model. She definitely has great genes, and family connections, but even with these advantages, Cody seems deserving of her success so far. We definitely hope to see more of her.
