Thinkmodo, the team behind last year’s viral prank promotion for a production of Carrie, is back at it again and this time they’re haunting the streets of New York City with a wonderfully horrific devil baby.
The animatronic offspring from hell is placed in a remote-controlled stroller and pops up to scare the bejesus out of folks on the streets. The short is to promote the horror film Devil’s Due.
One of the promo’s evil masterminds, Michael Krivicka, told Yahoo Movies, “People were totally cool with being in the video after getting the living hell scared out of them. Each reaction ended with a laugh, and everyone loved the look of the baby.” Krivicka, who has a 6-month-old son of his own added, “Going back and forth between the grotesque devil baby and my super-cute son really messed up my reality and gave me nightmares.”
