VIDEO Lady Gaga and Sugarland wow on “You and I” for Grammy concert
CBS had a concert last night to coincide with the nominations for this year’s Grammy Awards. Lady Gaga kicked off the show with her version of “Marry the Night” but it was her duet with country music’s Sugarland that stole the show.
Gaga and Jennifer Nettles shared vocals on “You and I” the song from Mother Monster’s recent runaway hit album Born This Way. Sometimes all the build up around the Grammys can grow tiresome. Sometimes Gaga’s over-the-top fashion and antics can get in the way of her immense talent. Sometimes Nettles can come across as overbearing when she performs but all of this “sometimes” was left in the dust as the following raging version became one of those rare special TV music performance moments.
The energy was palpable and the expressions of joy and exuberance shared between Gaga, Nettles and Kristian Bush were infectious.
Both Gaga and Sugarland hit up their Twitter accounts as they expressed their excitement following the rehearsal of the song that really wowed.
On the nomination front, Gaga got nods for Album of the Year for Born This Way and Best Pop Solo Performance for “You and I”
Oh yeah, congrats to Jennifer on her recent marriage to model and entrepreneur Justin Miller.
