Kate Gosselin and her brood will return to TLC in just a few weeks for a Kate Plus Eight: Sextuplets Turn 10 two-part special.
With the twins now 13, and the sextuplets about to turn 10, Cara, Mady, Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah, and Joel join their mother in this update about their life as a family today.
Throughout the special, Kate and the kids bring us up to speed on what’s changed in the family – how the kids have grown, what their interests are now, and what the latest is on Kate’s life and career. We follow them as they go on family outings and plan spring break activities… Viewers are also invited to the sextuplets’ 10th birthday, as Kate throws a carnival-themed party to celebrate the big milestone.
Although much has changed in the kids’ lives since Kate Plus Eight ended, Kate’s oft-criticized parenting style seems to have stayed the same. In the first preview, Kate talks about managing “older and smarter” children.
“[They are] giving me a run for my money daily and hourly and moment by moment,” said Kate, who also filmed Celebrity Apprentice this spring.
As the family meets to talk about spring break plans, teen daughter Mady says she doesn’t want to do her mom’s plans for “fun things.” Kate quickly shoots the rebellion down by sending Mady from the room and taking her cell phone.
“I got those girls cell phones and iPads so that I could take them away,” she said during a later confessional. “And I’ve learned that I’m not the only parent of teens who has discovered that little gem. Find their currency and that is it!”
The two-part Kate Plus Eight special airs on TLC on Thursday, June 19 at 10/9c and Thursday, June 26 at 10/9c.
