VIDEO Jimmy Fallon as Elton John “Candle in the Wind” Emmy Awards parody

Jimmy Fallon as Elton John at the 2010 Emmy Awards

In addition to spoofing Bruce Springsteen in the opening sequence of the 62nd Annual Prime Time Emmy Awards, host Jimmy Fallon also took a stab at Elton John, Boys II Men and Green Day while paying tribute to three shows that were discontinued in 2010.

Kicking off the tribute Fallon performed “Candle in the Wind” as Elton John in honor of the passing of Kiefer Sutherland’s 24.

Next up was Law & Order, which got the Boyz II Men treatment as Fallon did his altered version of “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday,” complete with a wasted 40oz.

Last was Lost which was sent off with an altered version of Green Day’s “Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)” (you can see a high-definition version of just this performance as well as the altered Green Day lyrics HERE).

Here’s the video followed by the altered lyrics to Candle in the Wind and “It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday:”

“Candle In the Wind” altered lyrics:

Goodbye 24
though I never watched you on TV
I missed on episode
had to buy the DVD

and Jack saved the day
he saved our lives
when the show came to an end
never going to the mens room
how did he hold it in?

Now I would like to thank you
for all the torturin’
that Jack and Chloey and CTU
and the first black president

“It’s So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday” altered lyrics:

How do I say goodbye
to Law & Order?
The good crimes, the changing cast
Everybody in New York City
[???] had a blast
How did we get to season 21
but now the sound has gone away

[Law & Order sound effect]

But at least there’s still the one

[pours out a 40oz]
with Mariska Hargitay
