VIDEO Jack Nicklaus’ grandson, FSU tight end Nick O’Leary walks away from motorcycle crash

Nick O'Leary motorcycle crash

During FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher’s press conference for ACC media day he acknowledged that tight end Nick O’Leary had been in an accident but that he’d be okay for the start of the upcoming football season.

A video has surfaced of the wreck and it’s pretty darned remarkable that the grandson of golfing great Jack Nicklaus made it out of the smash up without any serious injuries.

The accident occurred on May 2 in Tallahassee, Florida. Surveillance footage from a Star Metro Bus shows a Lexus pulling out onto the road as O’Leary approaches it. He doesn’t have time to avoid a crash and slams into the vehicle sending his body skidding 75-100 feet. Some of what was left of his ride hurled into the windshield of the bus, shattering it.

During the footage one seriously fortunate young man narrowly misses getting caught up in the collision after exiting the bus. Crazy!

O’Leary was treated at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital while the driver of the Lexus seen in the video was deemed to be the one at fault for violating O’Leary’s right of way.
