VIDEO Young princesses drop F-bombs to highlight sexism

Pink-princess-dropping-F-bombs

A for-profit T-shirt company has produced a video of young girls in princess outfits dropping an insane amount of F-bombs to “draw attention to society’s continued sexism.”

The clip has gone viral as they say and has many folks expressing their agreement with, or disgust of, the premise.

Here’s how the clip is explained via the post on Vimeo:

Facing a future where women are still paid 23% less than men for the same work, and where 1 in 5 women are raped or sexually assaulted in gender-based violence, little girls between 6 and 13 years-old dressed as pretty pink princesses drop F-bombs to draw attention to society’s continued sexism. Asking the question, “What’s more offensive? A little girl saying f**k or the sexist way society treats girls and women” these adorably articulate little ladies in sparkling tiaras turn the “princess in distress” stereotype on its head and contrast the F-word with words and statistics society should find shocking such as “pay inequality” and “rape.”

We can’t embed the original but here’s a bleep-filled version courtesy of Daily Mail:

And here’s what the company says they’re about via their official website:

“A for-profit T-shirt company with an activist heart and a passionate social change mission: arming thousands of people with pro-LGBT equality, anti-racism and anti-sexism T-shirts that act as “mini-billboards” for change. With over 305,000 followers on Facebook and 43,000 on Twitter, we have given over $250,000 to the equality cause through directly funded projects and donations to LGBT charities.

Do you have a problem with the company using this video to inform the public about sexism (and sell T-shirts)?
