TV Recap: Desperate Housewives Season 6, Episode 6 “Don’t Walk on the Grass”
In this week’s episode of Desperate Housewives entitled, ‘Don’t Walk on the Grass’ everyone wants to break the rules.
Bree starts to fall for Karl and the feeling appears to be mutual. When Bree trys to break it off with Karl he gives her a cameo that he tells her is a family heirloom. It turns out that Karl had taken the brooch from Susan ten years ago, after their divorce, and accused Susan of losing the brooch. Needless to say – Bree and Karl had to come up with a quick answer as to how they found the brooch after Susan sees Bree wearing it and wonders where she found it. Bree quickly returns the brooch to Susan. Orson goes to buy Bree a replacement broach but finds that the antique store where she supposedly bought the first one doesn’t sell jewelry. Orson’s finding should bring the affair between Bree and Karl to a head?
Tom comes home with a couple of young college friends who were too intoxicated to go to their own home. Lynnette finds out that Tom is cooking and buying beer for the guys at school in exchange for the answers to his math exam. Tom is cheating in math so that he can pass the class. Tom explains, “There are times in life when you need to break the rules to survive.” He points out that Lynette has continued to lie about being pregnant, knowing that if Carlos finds out, she could lose her job. “You’re no better than I am,” he tells her.
Juanita got in trouble in school when she yelled out a curse word during the school play. The principal meets with Gaby and Carlos and gives Juanita her punishment(s) which are a bit over the top. Gaby tells the principal so and ends up taking Juanita out of the school. Gaby admits to Juanita that she was wrong and asks Juanita if she thinks she is a good mother. The silence is deafening.
Carlos tells Gaby that she has to home school Juanita and as expected Gaby is NOT happy about this possibility. When Gaby attempts to have Juanita read a book – Juanita decides that throwing the book on the floor is the better option. Carlos walks in as Gaby is forcing Juanita to pick up the book (this is one of those “must see” scenes – very funny to watch). Carlos speaks to Juanita who fesses up that she is angry that Gabby took her out of school.
Katherine apologizes to Susan – she wants back into the “clique”. Susan says no but ends up eating her words when Katherine threatens a lawsuit for reckless endangerment when Susan shot her.
Katherine calls Mike at night because she has a “leaky” pipe. Mike goes to fix it and brings Susan. Susan finds a bedroom filled with rose petals, candles and champagne – as well as a bathtub filled with bubbles. Katherine and Susan ended up getting into a catfight in the bathtub. Susan decides she is no longer going to try for a truce and officially declares war, once again.
Angie is looking at an old photo out of her mother and her and begins to cry when Katherine walks in. Angie tells Katherine her mother died. When Katherine overhears Angie on the phone with her mother, Angie does some quick thinking and tells her it’s her mother in law. Based on the conversation it sounds like Angie is in a witness protection program. Katherine is becoming a problem for Angie. This prompts Angie to pay Susan a visit and tell her that she thinks that Katherine strangled Julie.
Another great episode. Next week’s episode is entitled, Careful the Things You Say. Susan believes that Katherine may be Julie’s assailant; Angie invites reluctant Bree and Orson to dinner; Gaby struggles to home school Juanita; Lynette has her own suspicions about who attacked Julie and Angie confronts Nick.
