Being a handsome, single man is nothing new for Brad Womack, the 38-year-old bar owner from Texas who is currently trying to decide between 30 attractive women competing for his affection on the 15th season of ABC’s The Bachelor.

I’m not just talking about Brad’s first run on The Bachelor three years ago, when he left a duo of potential future Mrs. Womacks in the lurch after turning down both DeAnna Pappas and Jenni Croft during the final rose ceremony. Brad was officially handsome dating all the way back to 1989 when he was voted “Mr. Handsome” during his sophomore year at Livingston High School in Texas! Check out the dapper whipper-snapper at the ripe young age of 16 from his high school yearbook:

OK – I realize the above photo begs the obvious question, “Why is his name Brad Pickelsimer?!?” Don’t think for a second we would leave you hanging on that one!

No, Brad Womack wasn’t born Brad Pickelsimer, he was born Brad Womack. His mother and father split up and when his mother remarried he took his step-father’s surname of Pickelsimer. He kept that name for a few years but would eventually revert back to Womack, probably because of the constant teasing. It was a good move on Brad’s part because the women on The Bachelor would be dropping like flies if they realized they were competing to be the next Mrs. Pickelsimer!

Here’s another photo of Brad Jacob Pickelsimer Schmidt from the time:

Being “Mr. Handsome” wasn’t all Brad had going for him in high school though! In addition to taking back the Mr. Handsome title his senior year after losing it the year before (perhaps to his twin brother Chad Womack?) Brad was also voted “senior class favorite” alongside Amanda Castleberry and the couple was crowned “Mr and Mrs LHS.”

I wonder whatever happened to Amanda Castleberry – and why did she and Brad not wind up together? Perhaps she was fearful at the time of changing her name to Amanda Castleberry Pickelsimer?

Here are some more “facts” about Brad from the yearbook:

HOBBIES: Volleyball
GOALS: To be a success
FAVORITE SAYING: “I’m serious”
FAVORITE FOOD: Quarter pounder with cheese
FAVORITE HANGOUT: The Lounge and the “love shack”
FAVORITE CAR: Stealth R/T turbo
GREATEST INFLUENCE IN HIS LIFE: His parents and his friends

(NOTE – The source for these photos says Brad was enrolled at Livingston High School when all of these photos were taken, but according to an article by The Hartwell Sun written in 2007 for Brad’s first go ’round on The Bachelor he “attended classes as a sophomore and junior from 1989-1990” at Hart County High School. Is there anybody out there who went to high school with Brad who can clarify? Leave a comment below or send us an email at starcasmtips (at) yahoo.com!)
