The second season of Teen Mom is over but these memorable mommies still have media momentum as their personal lives continue to gobble up valuable real estate on the covers of the weekly tabloids!
This week most all of the attention seems focused on Amber – the fallout from her violent outbursts and deep dark secrets that include rumors of cutting and suicide threats. From OK! magazine:
It’s been more than six days since 2-year-old Leah has heard from her mother, Teen Mom star Amber Portwood — not a single visit, no quick phone call or even a simple “I love you” message since the troubled young reality star and her beaten-down baby daddy, Gary Shirley, 23, broke up on Oct. 19, after yet another fight.
“She’s off doing her thing,” says Gary’s friend.

Life & Style Weekly offers up perhaps the silliest Amber headline of the week with “AMBER’S JAIL HELL: Gary Takes Leah PLUS Her Suicide Threats!” The magazine spoke with Jordan Sanchez, Gary’s best friend since he was 14, who says that Gary is trying to get custody of Leah and that she already spends most all of her time with him.
Sanchez thinks Amber has turned to medication to deal with the stress of a pending domestic abuse investigation:
He says she has a prescription for the addictive and powerful anti-anxiety drug Klonopin, often used to relieve panic attacks. Side effects can include severe drowsiness and dizziness. “I worry that she could be abusing it,” Jordan says. “I’ve seen her take multiple Klonopin at a time. There are days where she sleeps until 7 o’clock at night.”
“It’s gotten pretty bad. Gary told me that there have been several instances where Amber would say to him, ‘Come home or I’m gonna kill myself,’ and he’d fall right into her trap.”
Maci is the only other Teen Mom to get front cover billing this week as OK! reports that she is moving to Los Angeles and taking Bentley with her!
An insider tells OK! that the mom is planning to relocate from Tennessee to Tinseltown with her 2-year-old son, Bentley. The single mom has her own show in the works! While an MTV rep tells OK!, “Maci is not considering moving to L.A.,” an insider insists that a show of her own, and the move westward, are imminent.
Sorry Farrah, Catelynn and Tyler fans but the tabloids have nothing for you this week. Check back next week though as I’m sure there will be new stories involving Catelynn’s alien abduction and Farrah Abraham’s new relationship with Charlie Sheen!
