STREET OUTLAWS Brian Davis crash update, GoFundMe to rebuild CHUCKY launched
Last weekend we reported on the frightening crash involving Street Outlaws co-stars Justin “Big Chief” Shearer and Brian “Chucky” Davis that left both of their custom vehicles demolished. We have since updated on Big Chief’s condition as he recovers from multiple broken bones, but we haven’t given fans an update on how Brian Davis is doing.
The main reason we haven’t updated is because, amazingly, Brian was able to walk away from the crash relatively unharmed.
“Brian Davis aka ‘Chucky’……so glad he walked away from this accident we had,” Big Chief wrote on Facebook three days after the wreck. “I was told the first thing I asked for when they were pulling me out of my car was ‘Is Brian ok?’ And….today I was told that as they were pulling me out of my car, he was climbing out of his car trying to make sure I was ok.”
Big Chief went on to add, “Afterwards he hobbled over to me and we hugged and his exact words were ‘I’m so glad you get to see your family tomorrow’………this shows me that racing, even at this level of thrill seeking and no matter how heated and no matter how much trash talk is involved, we still care for our opponents and we still cherish the gift of life. I’m proud to have raced him.”
The day after the accident, Brian took to Facebook to update fans on the condition of his custom Mustang Chucky:
Finally getting in and unloaded the car, upon inspection we have decided that the car is not repairable. The next step is to figure out what I am going to build and where will I come up with all of the money for it. Starting completely over is going to be rough but I have a great team and loyal fans to help me during this process. Let’s hear what you guys would like to see me build next for CHUCKY 2.0
On Tuesday, Brian revealed that someone had launched a GoFundMe page in hopes of raising money to help him repair CHUCKY. “My great friend Chad Anselmi surprised me this evening at dinner with this, I am truly blessed with the family, friends and fans that I have,” wrote Brian along with the GoFundMe link.
The fund raising page is still active and has raised $1,265 of the $100,000 goal at the time of this post. Here is the description from the page:
For the people who know Brian, they know his car CHUCKY was not just a car to him; it is a part of who he is and it was his life next to his family. He worked extremely hard to get his car where it was. I use the word was, because as most may know by now, Brian’s car is a total loss after a wreck over this weekend. Today an irreparable part of him was hauled away.
This campaign was started as an opportunity to give back to Brian. He is very passionate about drag racing and has given so much to it. He has brought action, entertainment, and character to the racing community. He supports a multitude of tracks, promoters, racers, and fans.
Let’s show him how much we appreciate and love what he does. The goal of this endeavor is to get Brian back racing. Not only for him, but for his fans. Drag racing is what he loves to do and so many of the fans love to watch. Brian wants to build a new and improved CHUCKY. Every dollar raised will help resurrect a new CHUCKY. Any and all donations to the cause are appreciated more than you know. Thanks to everyone in advance!
We’re glad Brian miraculously survived the crash relatively unscathed, and we wish him the best in getting CHUCKY 2.0 off the ground and on the road soon! Hopefully, the Discovery cameras will be rolling and we will get to see it all unfold on Street Outlaws. Stay tuned!
