Did Rosie O’Donnell steal a baby?
The biological mother of one of Rosie O’Donnell’s children sold a story to the National Enquirer claiming that the comedian “stole” her child while she was under the influence of heroin 17 years ago.
“I believe Rosie O’Donnell knew that I was in no condition to sign away my parental rights to my daughter,” Deanna says. “She did the worst thing one woman can do to another woman – take her child!” These are some strange allegations considering that it’s impossible to steal a child when you jump through all the hoops to adopt one though an agency.
37-year-old Deanna Micoley told the mag that she was too high on drugs to know what she was doing when she surrendered her 2-month-old daughter Kayla to an adoption agency in 1997. She says her husband at the time “forced” her to do it, and also blames Rosie O’Donnell, who she just found out was the person who adopted her child. “I may not have been the best mother back then,” she said. “I did drugs and I have a criminal record because of it. But I surely didn’t deserve to have my baby stolen from me!”
“Rosie O’Donnell stole my baby, but I don’t want her money. I just want my daughter back!” she says. Rosie renamed the baby Chelsea, and she’s now 17 years old. She researched her birth family, and now Deanna says she wants her back, even though she’s about to turn 18 and be an adult anyway. Rosie’s publicist says she “encouraged and supported Chelsea’s desire to communicate with her birth mother,” but is “disappointed” with Deanna’s decision to go public.
