REPORT DJ Pauly D to move his spinoff to E!
Jersey Shore is coming to an end tomorrow night after six fist-pump-worthy seasons, but Paul “DJ Pauly D” Delvecchio isn’t done with reality TV. Although his spin-off, The Pauly D Project, wasn’t exactly the ratings draw MTV thought it would be, the E! Network is ready to bump MTV’s offer off the table and have Pauly sign on for a season two with them — but it won’t be quite the same.
According to TMZ, MTV was dragging their feet when it came to inking a deal with Pauly and the boys for the second season of the show and now, E! is jumping (and shelling out the big bucks) at their chance to have Pauly make the move — they’ve already had three meetings and things are looking good.
If Pauly does sign the deal with E!, The Pauly D Project is going to be getting a reality face-lift. The show isn’t just going to be surrounding his life as a deejay, it’s going to be following his entire life. His family life, his friendships, and with any luck, love interests as well.
Ratings for Pauly’s first season started near the 3 million mark but by the end of the 12 episode season, they had dropped to just over 1 million. It has been rumored that the low ratings were the reason that show had yet to return.
Reps for Pauly didn’t respond to calls for a comment.
