Bethenny Frankel filed for divorce from her husband Jason Hoppy last week in New York City, and according to a new report, she’s not playing games. Not only does she want to end their marriage, she also wants to make sure that she gets what’s rightfully hers, which means child support — and more.
TMZ reports that Bethenny, who is believed to be worth between $25 million and $55 million, is requesting child support as well as medical, dental, optical, therapeutic, and orthodontic expenses for both herself and their daughter Bryn, and a life insurance policy making her and Bryn beneficiaries.
In addition to those requests, Bethenny is also asking that Jason move out of their $5 million New York City pad so that she and Bryn can live there without him. She also asked the judge to grant her primary physical custody of Bryn, which means that she will live full-time with Mommy, but get to see her Daddy during scheduled visits.
Bethenny also wants the judge to enforce their prenuptial agreement, which they signed five days before their March 28, 2010 wedding. If all goes as planned, that will better allow their assets, including Bethenny’s Skinnygirl lifestyle brand, to be divided in a more amicable way.
A source close to Bethenny tells TMZ, “This is a preliminary step to move the process forward. She wants to work this out privately and amicably. All Bethenny cares about is that it works out the best way possible for Bryn.”
I would definitely rank Bethenny in the Top 10 reality ladies I would’t want to get in a divorce dispute with! I’m hoping this is all stuff that Jason has pretty much agreed to ahead of time, because if not, and he decides to go toe-to-toe with Bethenny, we coudl be seeing her in an all new courtroom-based Bravo reality show! (And that would not be pretty!)
