Last night’s Grammy Awards featured hundreds of elegantly clad superstars in designer clothing as music industry royalty graced the red carpet in designer gowns and over-the-top costumery. But, the belles of the ball were unquestionably viral video mavens Sophia grace and Rosie, who brought their indomitable good spirits to the event packaged in froo froo pink skirts and shimmering gold tops with “ellen” proudly spelled out across the front.
In case you missed it, British tots Sophia Grace Brownlee and Rosie became overnight sensations when their Youtube video performance of Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass” went viral in October. After the success of the video, the two little British girls were flown to California to appear on ellen where they were surprised by an appearance on Nicki Minaj herself in one of the most memorable and joy-inducing clips of 2011. I have to confess that I was a little disappointed by the fact that Nicki Minaj’s performance during the awards didn’t feature the Youtube sweethearts, but I suppose it would have been rather difficult working them into that bizarro stage show during her performance of “Roman Holiday!”
