Makes me want to change the name of the site to twangyguitarcasm.net!
I’ve wondered many times about what question I would ask Dwight Yoakam if I had the chance. It would have to address Dwight’s seemingly effortless lyrical grasp of human tragedy while at the same time shedding light on his equally seemingly effortless ability to create crack-like addicting melodies and riffs. I’d also want to touch on his marketing acumen and how someone from rural Kentucky with roots in bluegrass was exposed to the highly contagious H1N1 Bakersfield sound virus.
The question I’ve come up with is, “Dwight, why are you so awesome?”
There’s not really a story here. I was just browsing through celebrity photos when I stumbled upon images of Dwight at the Couples Retreat Premiere held at The Mann’s Village Theatre in Westwood California on October 5th, 2009. I checked IMDB and I don’t even think he’s in the movie, but I don’t care! Since we started using photos on this web site there has never been a Dwight Yoakam photo for us to use. Until now!
But, before you enjoy all the Yoakamy goodness, let’s have a moment of silence for the late great Bakersfield pioneer Buck Owens.
