Over across the big pond in France the biggest film festival on the planet is in full gear and full rear if you caught our Uma Thurman’s can at Cannes post.  While this photo post isn’t as {ahem} revealing it is stuffed full of Angelina Jolie, Jack Black and Kung Fu Panda II cuteness and fun!

The 64th Annual Cannes International Film Festival and a swarming crowd welcomed Jolie, Black and the karate choppn’ Po the panda as the stars of the film hoped to generate some promotional buzz for the follow up to the successful original.   The 2nd installment featuring the little BIG panda that could has a U.S. release date of May 26.

Black was his usual off-the-cuff self as he went classic Americana in jeans, sneakers and an ironic t-shirt that featured an image of John Lennon with a mustache that was labeled “Juan.”  Jolie dressed up a little more but did manage to break her St. Angelina serious face and let out some hardy smiles.

The two superstars and voice actors for the film have an ongoing relationship that began at Cannes back in 2004 as they rode together on a 14-foot animated fish along with that Will Smith guy to then promote the animated feature Shark Tales.  In a recent interview with the AP the two joked about each other and the playful nature of their friendship.

Jack mused that Angelina, based on her various action film roles, could take him out.  When he was pressed as how he’d like to go if that scenario played out he quipped,

“Scissor-squeeze.  I’m hoping for the scissor-squeeze, personally.  If I have to go, I would like it to be by the Angelina scissor-squeeze.”

Angelina was quick to affirm her skills, “And I’m good at the scissor-squeeze.”  I’ll leave that one on the table and to a certain Mr. Brad Pitt.

As for the adorably flawed Panda Po and what faces him this go around Black confirmed that like most of us it’s all about coping with your raising:

“It’s very much about our relationships with our parents.  That’s, of course, always a central part of every kid’s joy and angst at the same time growing up. So it’s a cool, primal thing that we tapped into for this installment of the Po journey.”
