Katy Perry is officially a CoverGirl! The latest spokesmodel for the iconic makeup brand tweeted her first in a series of advertisements for CoverGirl. Print versions will appear in Spring 2014 magazines.

Although Katy’s better known for her bold style, the subdued makeup she sported in the first ad was equally stunning (and more fitting for the “easy, breezy” brand). In subsequent ads, CoverGirl representatives say we’ll see a variety of looks from the Roar singer…

“Katy is the embodiment of a true CoverGirl — someone we root for, identify with, and get inspiration from,” Esi Eggleston Bracey, VP and General Manager, told People. “We have been admirers of her music and her style for a long time, and are looking forward to a beautiful journey together.”

Katy is also eager to participate in the campaign.

“I’ve always considered makeup to be a powerful creative avenue of self-expression,” she said in a statement. “I’m honored to partner with CoverGirl and share more colors and textures of my approach to beauty to inspire my audience.”

By becoming a CoverGirl, Katy follows in the footsteps of Taylor Swift, Pink, Ellen DeGeneres and her good friend Rihanna.
