Christian Bale looks unrecognizable on the set of his new movie, an untitled David O. Russell film, but this isn’t the first time the actor has drastically changed his appearance for a role.
He’s previously lost huge amounts of weight for The Fighter and The Machinist. For the 2004 film The Machinist, he whittled away 63 pounds in just four months by subsisting on just apples, coffee, and cigarettes.
In this latest film, which also stars Amy Adams, Bale plays a con man turned FBI agent. Jennifer Lawrence, Bradley Cooper, and (my favorite) Louis C.K. also have roles.
