Forget about Chelsea Clinton, T.I., or Alicia Keys, this weekend’s most anticipated wedding is Lisa Simpson’s.
During an episode of The Simpsons‘ Sixth Season which aired March 19, 1995, a fortune teller transported us to Lisa’s future wedding date, which is today, August 1, 2010! She was to be 23-years-old and marrying a British student named Hugh Parkfield she met at college.
The day doesn’t exactly go as planned; Lisa calls off the wedding after she learns her fiance is so disgusted by her family he plans to carry Lisa off to England and never let her see her family again!
Kind of sad, but the fortune teller reassures Lisa she will find true love someday, but she happens to specialize in “foretelling relationships where you get jerked around.”
