Nick Gordon blames drugs for Bobbi Kristina’s condition in secret recording
An audio recording of Nick Gordon, made shortly after Bobbi Kristina’s January 31st bathtub incident, captures Gordon discussing what happened and blaming Bobbi Kristina’s drug use for her medical condition. The recording was made without Gordon’s knowledge, and has emerged just as the investigation into Gordon’s abusive behavior is heating up.
An undisclosed member of Gordon’s family recorded a conversation between the two of them on February 21st, exactly three weeks after Bobbi Kristina was found comatose in the bathtub of her Roswell GA home. According to TMZ, the recording is legally admissable despite the fact that Gordon didn’t know he was being recorded, since “Georgia is a one-party state.”
Gordon begins by saying “I’ll tell you the honest truth–Krissy, she was under a lot of stress and we were all doing drugs and you know, all, all drinking, bro.”
A moment later, Gordon says “She just did too much, man. She, listen, listen bro. I will officially stay [away] from bath tubs forever, I’ll tell you that.”
At one point in the conversation, Gordon defends himself against claims that he was somehow responsible for Bobbi Kristina’s injuries: “When Krissy wakes up she’ll tell the truth to everybody. Everybody will feel stupid as f*ck….You know Krissy got in an accident two days before this happened and the man is in critical condition right now.”
“The man” Gordon refers to is the motorist who recently sued Bobbi Kristina for $730,000 in damages following a major car accident he and Krissi got into on January 27th. People has since reported that the motorist suffered injuries to his spine and had to be placed both on a ventilator and in a medically induced coma for an unspecified period.
Gordon then concluded the conversation on a strange, defiant note: “If they take her off that life support, the police are going to have to take me down bro.”
It’s not clear whether Gordon means “the police [having] to take [him] down” because he will fly into a grief-fueled rage, or because he will flee the state to avoid persecution.
Gordon is the sole defendant in a $40 million civil lawsuit brought by the conservator of Bobbi Kristina’s estate. That lawsuit alleges years of physical and emotion abuse by Gordon, including claims that he caused “significant bodily harm” to Bobbi Kristina; manipulated others into believing that he was her husband, so that he could gain access to her finances; and stole an accrued $11,000 in cash.
Gordon is also the sole suspect in the ongoing criminal investigation of the Bobbi Kristina case.
