MUG SHOT Scott Wilson of The Walking Dead requested to do yoga during DUI arrest
Veteran character actor Scott Wilson was arrested and charged with DUI in Peachtree City, GA on Aug 18.
70-year-old Wilson, well-known recently for his performance as recovering alcoholic farmer Hershel Greene on AMC’s The Walking Dead, was pulled over at approximately 2 AM after authorities received a call about a Chrysler PT Cruiser driving erratically.
The arresting officer spotted Wilson fleeing from zombies headed northbound on a local highway going darn near 70 MPH which was well above the posted speed limit. In addition it was stated that Wilson’s ride was seen swerving several times.
When Wilson was pulled over he told the cop that the vehicle was his sister’s and that he’d enjoyed a few beverages at a local restaurant earlier that evening.
Making matters worse he first gave the authorities the wrong name of Miller and then complained during his field sobriety test that the highway was slanted. He requested if he could do some yoga moves instead to prove his sobriety. That suggestion didn’t go over too well obviously.
On the scene the breathalyzer test recorded a 0.143 while back at the pokey the booking test revealed a 0.151 and 0.155. The BAC legal limit in Georgia is .08.
Wilson’s list of screen credits is incredibly impressive. Significant movies he has appeared in include but are not limited to, In the Heat of the Night (67), In Cold Blood (67), The Great Gatsby (74), The Right Stuff (83), and Dead Man Walking (95).
Here’s a clip of Wilson from In Cold Blood as Dick Hickock. He’s a young man here but his mannerisms and that unforgettable accent are the same.
