MTV announces Real World: Skeletons, where guests must face ‘the last person on earth they wanted to see’
For the upcoming season of The Real World, MTV is changing up the format once again to feature houseguests who must live with “the last person on earth they wanted to see.”
According to a press release from the network, the season will begin in the traditional way as seven unsuspecting houseguests move into a modern loft in Chicago. Then, similar to Real World: Ex-plosion, the roommates are shocked when a person from the past moves in — except, in this case, that person (or people) is linked to a dark secret the houseguest hoped to hide.
MTV revealed two of the Real World: Skeltons house guests are brothers Bruno Bettencourt and Briah Bettencourt, who haven’t spoken ever since Briah told Bruno he wished he actually died in a serious car accident.
The rest of the cast includes a cyber bully who is joined by those she tormented, a woman who must face a “her boss from hell,” a man with a “secret baby mama,” a player who is confronted by three of his hookups, a man who meets his father for the first time and a former drug addict who burned a lot of bridges. Jonathan Murray, the creator and executive producer of The Real World, said producers of the show all have good intentions even though the situations are bound to be dramatic.
“No one wants their worst enemy or embarrassing past moving in with them,” Jonathan said. “But by facing your past you actually grow, and that growth, however painful it may be, is what makes this season of The Real World so watchable.”
The Real World: Skeletons premieres on Dec. 16 at 10/9c.
