Mischa Barton declares victory in revenge porn case
Mischa Barton’s attorney is declaring victory.
The former O.C. star was all smiles as she exited a Los Angeles courtroom on Monday after reaching a deal that will hopefully prevent any dissemination of a sex tape featuring her and an ex-boyfriend.
Barton alleged that Jon Zacharias was attempting to sell explicit video and images made against her will to adult entertainment companies for a staggering half-a-million dollars.
Barton is represented by noted civil rights attorney Lisa Bloom. Bloom, who is also representing Kathy Griffin in her bizarre Donald Trump beheaded photo controversy, tweeted out an image of herself and Barton with hands raised writing, “COURT VICTORY today with Mischa Barton. Distribution of the explicit images banned, ex stays 100 yards away forever… People said Mischa and I could never stop an ex trying to sell explicit pix of her. I disagreed. Today, we won… Mischa and I fought this battle for women’s right to control which images of our bodies would be public.”
CBS Los Angeles reports that Zacharias agreed not to distribute any of the images in his possession and to hand them over to Barton and Bloom.
