Meryl Streep’s daughter Mamie Gummer is engaged, US Magazine reports! Mamie (real name Mary Willa Gummer) has been dating boyfriend Ben Walker for about a year-and-a-half. They met while performing together in Broadway’s Dangerous Liasons.
Walker proposed the old fashioned way by getting down on one knee and presenting her with an over-sized ring in a old-fashioned setting. Mamie is super-excited:
“He proposed two days ago,” the actress, 26, announced Monday in New York at the Whitney Museum of American Arts Gala, noting that he “surprised” her with a custom-made ring. “He did it on one knee!” she said.
Mom Meryl approves of the situation, and anything that Meryl Streep approves of must be good, and at the very least win a Golden Globe!
Mamie is the second oldest child of four of Meryl Streep and her husband of 31-years, sculptor Don Gummer. Their other children include Henry, Grace, and Louisa Gummer.
