Lindsay Lohan tests positive for cocaine, is she headed back to jail?

It took less than three weeks for perpetual train wreck Lindsay Lohan to fall back on her self-destructive ways. LiLo was released from her post-prison inpatient rehab stint on August 24 and according to TMZ she failed a court-mandated drug test last week!

Sources close to Lindsay say she is denying the story, but TMZ says they have confirmed that she has tested positively for cocaine. I don’t know about you, but I think I will err on the side of the most reliable news source in the world and assume she did indeed fail the test.

So what does this mean for Lindsay? According to the terms of her probation a failed drug test mandates a 30-day prison sentence. Please don’t tell me we’re going to go through all that courtroom/3 days in jail drama again!

No word if this will impact Lindsay Lohan hosting Saturday Night Live December 4, which was announced earlier today. (CLICK HERE to read all about that and see our suggestions for Lohan skits!) I can’t believe that I possibly wasted time in Photoshop not only on the SNL thing but also the movie poster for Shawskank Redemption about Lindsay’s release from prison. Grrrrrrrrrr!!!

UPDATE – Lindsay has since confirmed the failed drug test via Twitter, stating the following spread out over a number of tweets:

Regrettably, I did in fact fail my most recent drug test and if I am asked, I am prepared to appear before judge Fox next week as a result.

Substance abuse is a disease, which unfortunately doesn’t go away over night. I am working hard to overcome it and am taking positive steps forward every day. I am testing every single day and doing what I must do to prevent any mishaps in the future.

This was certainly a setback for me but I am taking responsibility for my actions and I’m prepared to face the consequences.

I am so thankful for the support of my fans, loved ones and immediate family, who understand that i am trying hard, but also that I am a work in progress, just as anyone else. I am keeping my faith, and I am hopeful….Thank you all!!!

TMZ has also learned that Lindsay failed an additional drug test and that one of the failed tests was for cocaine.
