Jean Paul Gaultier launches kids’ couture line with a dress you can’t afford
French fashion designer Jean Paul Gaultier has introduced a new couture line, Junior Gaultier Couture, for young girls set to launch in Spring of 2014.
This new premium collection is inspired by Gaultier’s 2013 couture line for adults (who are less likely to spill Kool Aid on his fabulous designs). Teasing the demanding public, because who out there isn’t ready to drop some serious bank on their angels, Jean Paul has only revealed one piece — the above silk and tulle dress in either bright pink or white.
Only 90 of the designs have been produced, featuring a billowing crinoline skirt offset by a simple T-shirt silhouette bodice. The ensemble is embellished with Swarovski crystals.
The pieces will be available for girls ages 4-14 and will run interested buyers approximately $1,200.
