Angelina Jolie and the producers of Salt must have been smiled upon by God. Sexy Russian sleeper spies are coming out of the woodwork to help promote Angelina’s movie about a sexy Russian spy!
Just a few weeks after flame-haired beauty Anna Chapman was discovered to be a sleeper spy and sent back to Russia in a spy swap, and less than a week after the premiere of Salt, The Smoking Gun reveals that Anna Fermanova was arrested earlier this month for attempting to smuggle night vision scopes to Moscow, a federal felony offense.
This trim and curvy Jewish Latvian born hottie has lived in Texas since her parents relocated there when she was nine. She’s got a cosmetology license that expires in August, but is currently pursuing a major in communications from the University of Phoenix, and splits her time between Texas (where her parents live), and Moscow (where she teaches English.) March 1 she was detained for trying to smuggle the scopes, which are considered munitions covered by the Arms Export Control Act, but was able to get to Moscow, where she spent four months. When she tried to return to Texas earlier this month (July) she was arrested and charged with knowingly and intentionally” attempting to export “from the United States to Russia defense articles on the United States Munitions list.”
Anna claims that she was trying to bring the scopes to her Russian husband, who likes to use them to hunt. She recalled “signing something” explaining that she couldn’t take them out of the country when she bought them, but claimed that she “hadn’t read it.” Her lawyer Scott Palmer claims that she is in no way a spy: “She’s a nice Jewish girl who lives with her sweet Latvian parents. There’s no terrorism link. There’s no espionage.”
