‘I don’t care’ driver charged for swerving and hitting motorcycle
William Crum, the Texan who proclaimed “I don’t care” after swerving and hitting a motorcyclist attempting to pass in a no-pass zone, has been arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
The video of the whole crazy scene was posted to Facebook by Eric Sanders, the driver of the motorcycle, and went viral over the weekend. The footage was taken Sanders’ friend, who was riding on a different bike behind him.
Sanders and his girlfriend (both were on the motorcycle seen struck in the clip) were hospitalized following the collision. Sanders’ girlfriend had to undergo surgery due to the injuries she sustained.
When WFAA spoke with Crum he explained that an insect had bit him near his groin area and that the swerve was caused by a knee-jerk reaction to the pain.
Sanders, who was cited for passing in a no-passing zone and driving with an invalid license, was incredulous at Crum’s response that was caught on video:
That’s the worst thing, is when I saw that dude saying, ‘I don’t care, I don’t care.’ He says it four to five times. I’ve never seen this guy in my life. And he ran me over.
When Crum was asked if he would like to apologize he said, “To her, but to him, no. Because he was doing something illegal.”
