Here’s the track listing for The Beatles’ “Black Album” from “Boyhood”
One of the details that makes Boyhood so intimate and compelling is how Ethan Hawke’s character Mason Sr. incorporates his love of music into fatherhood. One of the most charming moments is when he gets The Beatles “back together” for his son.
For one of Mason Jr.’s birthdays he’s extremely proud of a homemade project he passionately labored over. It’s a mix CD of solo efforts by John, Paul, George, and Ringo he calls The Beatles’ Black Album. The idea is that he’s was able to recapture what made The Beatles so magical by placing the solo songs side by side so all The Beatles could balance each other out again.
