Nev Schulman statement on sexual misconduct allegations by Catfish Season 4 star Ayissha Morgan

A former cast member on MTV’s hit show Catfish has accused show host Nev Schulman of sexual misconduct in a two-part Youtube video posted earlier this week. MTV has since suspended production on the show to investigate, but Nev has issued a statement flatly denying the allegations and saying the woman’s “claims are false.”

Here is Nev’s full statement, as first posted by Newsweek:

The behavior described in this video did not happen, and I’m fortunate that there are a number of former colleagues who were present during this time period who are willing to speak up with the truth. I have always been transparent about my life and would always take responsibility for my actions, but these claims are false.

Prior to Nev’s statement, MTV issued their own statement announcing the suspension of production on the show:

We take these allegations very seriously. We’re working with Critical Content, our third party production company, to conduct a thorough investigation and we’ve put a pause on shooting until the investigation is completed.

The cast member’s name is Ayissha Morgan and she was featured in Catfish Season 4. Despite Ayissha being a lesbian (a huge part of her story on the show), she says that Nev repeatedly pressured her to try having sex with a man — specifically him.

We are working on a recap of Ayissha’s allegations from her videos and will post that shortly.

UPDATE – Recap of all the allegations against Nev Schulman by Ayissha in her Youtube videos.
