Gossip Girl’s true identity revealed — find out who!
Last night, after six seasons, Gossip Girl came to an end — and the person behind the infamous gossip blog was revealed. Dan had given the last chapter of his book to Nate to publish on his site, The Spectator. Shortly after, past and present cast members found out who had been tormenting them and stalking their every move for so many years.
It was none other than Dan. His voice was played for all to hear, via e-blast, in true Gossip Girl form. “I wasn’t born into this world, maybe I could write myself into it,” he began. “And when Serena came back from boarding school, I wrote my first post about me: Lonely Boy, the outsider. The underdog. I might’ve been a joke, but at least people were talking about me.”
Then, fans got a glimpse at their lives five years later. Jenny and Erik were back, and Georgina was in a relationship with Chuck’s uncle. Rufus and Lily were on friendly terms and the married Blair and Chuck had a son. But perhaps the most exciting update had to do with Serena and Dan — they were getting married.
However, not all was resolved. Following the on-again/off-again couple’s nuptials, the camera zoomed in on a new group of high school students.
“You may be rid of Dan Humphrey, but you’ll never be rid of me,” the narrator (Kristen Bell, who also made a cameo in the episode) said. “There’s always someone on the outside. . . Who am I now? That’s one secret I’ll never tell.” The end.
